According to HalloweenCostumes.com’s 2025 Halloween in America survey, the top vibe this year is all about cute and cozy. In fact, one in four respondents said they’re leaning toward lighthearted looks that are as comfortable as they are festive.
That shift reflects a larger trend: Halloween is becoming more about connection, community, and celebration than about frights alone.
The survey revealed some fascinating insights into how Americans are planning their spooky season:
People are doubling up on outfits — 30% plan to wear two or more costumes this year, thanks to a growing number of parties, workplace celebrations, and themed events.
Workplaces in particular are catching the Halloween bug, with nearly half of offices now decorating desks, handing out candy, or encouraging themed apparel.
72% say costume participation in their communities is holding steady or growing, and it’s clear that dressing up is still a cornerstone of the holiday.
But while elaborate costumes and animatronic yard displays are on the rise, budgets are staying strong—and people are looking for options that strike the perfect balance of style, personality, and comfort.
After all, whether you’re chasing candy with your kids, hopping between parties, or cozying up with friends for a movie marathon, you want a look that feels good as much as it looks good.
