Halloween Hunting: Carpe Noctem Candle Co.

Wish Halloween hunting lasted all year? It can with my new newsletter, It’s Always Code Orange!

In the sleepy riverbank town of Stillwater, MN is a spooky hidden gem. Wander the streets of the town, and you'll eventually discover a dark delight: Carpe Noctem Candle Co.

I was introduced to this magical spot back in January by a couple of girls I met at a ghost hunting event. We went to wander downtown Stillwater one chilly afternoon, and this ended up being my favorite stop.

I stocked up on some of their signature scents, all numbered and beautifully displayed in the shop. They also do seasonal collections, and I’ve been lucky enough to get my hands on their holiday and summer scents. I can’t wait to go back this fall!

(They also have a location in Las Vegas!)

The best part: they 100% sell their candles online, so you can join in the fun too. (And if you spend more than $30, you can use the code FREESHIPPING for…free shipping.)

While I am mostly pulling from what’s currently available on their website, I encourage you to follow their Instagram and keep an eye out for Halloween scents, which are sure to drop soon!

Halloween Hunting at Carpe Noctem Candle Co.

Vaudeville Candle

This is my latest favorite scent at Carpe Noctem. It sucked with me with that old book feel. Layers in this candle include saffron, orchid, tobacco, and vanilla. GET IT HERE

Maiden Guyo Candle

I really love these candle jars for the dark collection, and the scent of this one caught my attention too! Includes rose pepper, vanilla, and patchouli. GET IT HERE

Black Velvet Hide Reed Diffuser

One thing I love about the dark collection: scents come in a number of products that you can use around the house, like this reed diffuser bottle. They come with reeds you can drop in the bottle for flameless scents. This one would be fun for fall: orange, vanilla, clove, and gunmetal. GET IT HERE

Ubuntu Reed Diffuser

Over in the light collection, you’ll find scents that are more floral and soft, like Ubuntu which includes sea salt, honeydew, dried florals, and white wood musk. GET IT HERE

Orgasmos Home + Body Spray

I bought this spray in the Vaudeville scent and love it, but this Orgasmos caught my attention too for the mix of citrus and more earthy scents, like driftwood and tobacco. GET IT HERE

Invigorate Candle

While not outright spooky, I do love the simplicity of this label and these scents that will help Summerween live on: mint, lime, pineapple, and dark rum! GET IT HERE

No. 4 Candle

Finally, in the studio collection all the scents are numbered so they’re (hopefully!) easier to remember. No. 4 is nice and rich for fall: coffee, caramel, and cacao. GET IT HERE

No. 6 Candle

This one was my very first pick in January, and I’ve loved burning it this spring and summer. It’s fresh and floral (perfect for Springoween!) without being overpowering. GET IT HERE

No. 14 Candle

And this is my most recent studio collection pick for summer leading into fall: eucalyptus and mountain air lead into crisp apple, fir balsam, and cinnamon. GET IT HERE

Candle of the Month
