Halloween decorating doesn’t always have to mean big-box store hauls or mass-produced finds.
Some of the most charming, eye-catching additions to your home can come from small businesses — artists who put their time, creativity, and love of the season into every piece.
Whether it’s a hand-thrown mug, a sculpted vase, or a whimsical jar, pottery can add warmth, texture, and personality to your displays. Best of all, these items aren’t just for October! They can become practical, stylish accents you’ll enjoy year-round.
In today’s post, I’m highlighting a few pottery pieces gifted to me from Par de Brujas and showing you how I’ve woven them into my Halloween setup in unexpected ways — plus giving you more ideas for utilizing these unique pieces in your own decor.
About Par de Brujas
But first, a bit about this small business!
Par de Brujas — or Couple of Witches — was born from the bond between Latina mother and daughter, Beatriz and Audrey, as a way to deepen their connection with heritage and cultura.
The name itself carries family history, inspired by a cherished nickname where the family matriarch lovingly called Beatriz “Brujilda” and Audrey “Brujita.” Together, they brought Par de Brujas to life, weaving family, tradition, and artistry into every piece.
Their creations are a celebration of Mexican culture and tradition. They curate handmade pottery sourced directly from artisan-owned workshops, ensuring fair wages and preserving time-honored techniques passed down through generations. The duo also offer hand-poured candles in traditional Mexican pottery.
The Par de Brujas collection has since grown to include laser-engraved home goods and other cultural treasures, each piece designed to honor roots while adding magic to everyday spaces. From the vibrant colors of pottery to the nostalgic scents of candles and wax melts, every item is more than a product. It’s a meaningful work of art infused with the soul of Mexican heritage.

Spider Cup and Saucer
My use: For a cozy glow, I’ve filled this Halloween-themed mug with a layer of candy corn, then nestled a tealight candle on top. The candy doubles as both a colorful base and a playful nod to one of the season’s most iconic treats. When the candle is lit, it casts a warm light that makes the candy sparkle — like a little lantern for your shelf or tabletop. You could also easily use a battery-powered tealight. GET IT HERE
Three more ways to use it:
Mini flower pot – Add a small plant like a succulent or air plant for a year-round touch that ties into the Halloween spirit without needing constant refresh.
Potion prop – Fill it with colored water or faux moss, then stage it on your coffee bar or Halloween vignette as if it’s a witch’s brew.
Candy cauldron – Skip the tealight and instead fill it with wrapped candies or candy eyeballs. Place one at each setting on a Halloween party table for a spooky-sweet favor.
Bat Vase
My use: Instead of flowers, I’ve styled the vase as a holder for Halloween-themed straws at my coffee bar. It’s practical, festive, and a little unexpected — plus it adds a pop of seasonal design to an everyday spot in my home. GET IT HERE
Three more ways to use it:
Mantel anchor – Display it on your mantel surrounded by candles, pumpkins, or spooky garlands. The clay texture grounds the rest of the décor while still showing off its unique design.
Curiosity cabinet companion – Place it on a shelf with other seasonal curiosities — like vintage books, apothecary bottles, or a faux raven so it becomes part of a little Halloween story.
Table centerpiece – For a Halloween dinner, let the vase stand tall at the center of your table with just a few sprigs of dried grasses, black feathers, or bare branches to create an atmospheric (but not overpowering) arrangement.
Calabaza Negra
My use: On my ottoman tray, I’m using this pumpkin jar to hide remote controls for my jack-o-lanterns and candles. It’s the perfect mix of functional and festive — a little secret storage that still adds a seasonal flourish to the room. GET IT HERE
Three more ways to use it:
Candy keeper – Use it as a treat jar on your coffee table or entryway, always ready with mini chocolates or candy corn for guests.
Bathroom accent – Tuck cotton balls, bath salts, or Halloween-themed soaps inside and display it on your counter for a subtle seasonal touch.
Desk helper – Keep small items like paper clips, push pins, or USB drives tucked inside while you work — practical storage that makes your workspace a little more fun in October.
