Who ya gonna call when you need a killer Ghostbusters bag for a Halloween costume, a con or, y'know, life? HalloweenCostumes.com, of course!
A few weeks ago my friend Mike over at AllHallowsGeek.com posted about these bags...and my jaw dropped. Novelty hangbags are kind of a big thing in the Halloween community, but I had never seen any quite like these.
If they elicited this kind of reaction for me, a casual "Ghostbusters" fan, I knew that many of you would absolutely fall in love with them too.
My friends over at HalloweenCostumes.com were paying attention because the next thing I knew, all three bags arrived in the mail so I could do a little review of them...AND give one away to one of you! More on that in just a minute.
First, can we just take in how awesome these bags are?
I mean...c'mon! So so cool, right?
I'll share more about each bag below, but overall there are two things I genuinely love about these.
First, how long all the straps are! As a tall girl with a long torso, finding cross-body bags that actually hang down to my hip can be hard. The adjustable strap allowed me the option to go over-the-shoulder or cross-body with all three bags...with a bit of length left over.
Second, the price point. Slimer and the logo bags are only $24.99, and the Ecto-1 bag is just $5 more at $29.99. You really can't beat being under $30 for a novelty handbag!
One detail I usually look for in my purses is an extra zipper pocket on the inside, and while I wish these - esp. the car - had that, it also wouldn't be a dealbreaker for the fun of carrying around a Ghostbusters bag.
Ghostbusters Slimer Windowed Mini-Tote

First up is Slimer. I love how BRIGHT this bag is! The interior of the bag is red, outside is the perfect shade of lime green and that bright pink tongue makes him stand out in this trio.
His mouth opening is clear plastic. On the backside, the actual body of the bag is a 6-inch by 4-inch rectangle. The top zipper has two pull tabs, which I love.
In my normal day-to-day life, I tend to carry larger purses that fit books and notebooks. While Slimer wouldn't be a daily carry for me, he is perfect for things like attending conventions, October horror movie date nights or pumpkin patch outings where you might carry a smaller bag. Or if you're simply a minimalist!
Ghostbusters Logo Halloween Bag

You can't go wrong with the iconic Ghostbusters logo! Like Slimer, the logo bag has dual zippers. The backside is solid red, and I think it's my favorite of the three because it is the PERFECT size.
In my days as The Good Groupie, I became something of a concert purse expert...and this one would definitely qualify as an ideal concert purse size. Just big enough that the design will be eye-catching but small enough that it fits next to your body snuggly. This one, especially, would be perfect for carrying at conventions.
It would look great with this costume. Just saying... (Or this one if you prefer the classic jumpsuit.)
Ghostbusters Ecto-1 Car Bag
Dimensions: 13 inches long by 6 inches high, 2 inches wide

To round out the collection, we have the Ecto-1 car! The backside of this bag is solid white, and it has a single zipper. The shape of the car is more or less the shape of the bag compartment - a little long and awkward but that's just the nature of novelty bags.
I do wish this one, in particular, had an interior pocket but for the right costume, it wouldn't deter me from purchasing it.
What I do love about this bag more than the other two is all the details on the car. The shimmery windows, lights and chrome details give it a different dimension. And, of all three, I think this one is an absolute steal for just $30!
