We're on the final stop of this year's Halloween home tour. Welcome to my spooky living room!
After my bedroom, this is my favorite space I decorated this season. In the past, I've just added Halloween to my year-round decor because my bookshelves contain a lot of, well, books. This year, I decided to step it up. I pulled everything off the bookshelves flanking my TV stand and made it 100% Halloween.
One thing I wanted to capture: the Halloween glow. It's something I've waxed poetic about before...and one of the easiest ways to transform a room for Halloween. I went on a jack-o-lantern-buying spree so I could incorporate them onto my shelves. I sorted my decor my Halloween icon (ghost, skeleton, witch) and made themed shelves. I'm excited because I see a lot of potential for curating decor further in the coming years with this new approach.

Halloween everywhere you look.
Everywhere!
No, really. EVERYWHERE.
I traded out all my usual artwork for Halloween. (Yes, including a photo of this costume because the orange popped!)
The best $75 I've ever blown at Target: this pumpkin lamp post. I have yet to regret this purchase. (Or Matt's killer Halloween calendar!)
Get spooky or get out. ✌️ (Reminder that you can find coffin letterboards here.)
One of two Halloween radios I now own. This one was purchased because I love the design. I'll tell you the story about the other one when we get there...
Meet Pout! I loved his grumpy face, so once Halloween is over he'll be finding a permanent home in the Spooky Little Apartment.
The coziest chair featuring this year's must-have Halloween book, "Thirteen Tales for Halloween" by Andrew Noles.
More self-made decor using blog photos...and my new ghost logo as a FatHead. How cute, right?
But let's swing back to THIS view because there are so many fun things happening here. In addition to pulling all my regular decor off my shelves, I wanted to make a focal point in my decor. I long for a mantle to decorate, but my TV will have to do until then.
All I did was take a dollar store witch hat, tape 7-8 feet strips of orange crepe paper inside and twist them for a dramatic centerpiece. Simple. Effective. Stunning.
A peek at my shoddy tape job—don't judge me!—but this photo is about this AMAZING haunted house from Cracker Barrel. I LOVE how it lights up, esp. with the green bat projection. It was pricey at $40, but I had a gift card and it adds to my Halloween glow perfectly.
Themed shelves! Can you spot Andrew and Devin from Your Best Halloween Ever tucked away in there?
The lighted skull is actually year-round home decor...repurposed for Halloween.
Pumpkin mummies! Both impulse buys this year that I do not regret. They're so cute!
Okay, so here is the other Halloween radio at the top right of the photo. I spotted this at Ross, and I didn't love the facade and thought the projects were a little cheesy. It also looked cheap and, as you can see because I haven't fixed it yet, the dial sticker was peeling off. And I felt like it was overpriced at just under $20 for the quality.
BUT THE SONG. After I heard it, I couldn't get it out of my head. I saw it two more times in stores before I decided I needed it.
One of my favorite vignettes on my shelves this year—a few of my favorite things, all grouped together!
These lights were another early-season impulse buy...and funnily enough, the last piece of decor I added to the living room! The pumpkins are connected to a battery pack, and when you press the button they sing the chorus of "Monster Mash". Found at Big Lots, but I've also seen people find them at a local grocery store chain in Texas, HEB.
And a few final shots to show off that intoxicating Halloween glow.
Who wants to come over and watch spooky movies this weekend?
Thanks for taking a tour of my Halloween living room!
