As a Halloween content creator about to celebrate 10 years on the job, I have seen my fair share of spooky small businesses come and go during that time.
And the ones that turn over the most? Subscription boxes.
Which, honestly, is SUCH a bummer because there’s so much potential for these to be great. And who doesn’t love a little Halloween mail showing up every now and again?
Lucky for me, I caught wind of a new kid on the block before they sent out their first box and used my hard-earned personal dollars to subscribe to Jack-o-Mart.
And this one seems to have some real staying power, finally.
In this post, you’ll find a peek inside the first two boxes I’ve received, plus my quick review of whether or not I think this subscription box is worth checking out.
Inside Jack-o-Mart Subscription Boxes
Jack-o-Mart boxes are currently $50 per box. Inside each one you will find:
Something practical – A useful item perfect for Halloween lovers like a hand-poured bar of soap, dish towel, or nifty comfy socks.
Something cool – A spooktacular surprise to make you smile such as a vintage-inspired mask or noisemaker.
Something for the home – A terrorific treasure to haunt your space like an art print or Samhain soy candle.
Something silly – A little mischief to keep the magic alive!

Something cool — art print + frame
Something for the home — two Halloween dish cloths
Something silly — jack-o-lantern bracelet
Bonus — emotional support jack-o-lantern
My Review
So…is Jack-o-Mart worth it? Yeah, I think so.
It’s worth checking it out if you’re curious or want some fun spooky mail. These could also be a great gift to send your spooky bestie this October — or whenever they need a little pick-me-up.
The items inside are unique and not things I’ve seen all over the Internet or in big box stores, which gets bonus points to me. I was especially excited about the orange Swedish dish cloth and socks. I think it’d be even cooler to see some art prints or one-of-a-kind items from creatives within our community.
For me, the real magic with these items happens in the letter. I love the storytelling aspect to give each item in the box a little more of a Halloween feel, rather than it just being stuff. It’s a cool touch I’ve not seen before in other subscription boxes I’ve tried out.
