The one where you find out I am secretly a grandma.

I have been cross-stitching since I was in elementary school. One summer, my mom taught me how and it became my favorite thing to do on long, hot afternoons before we could head to the pool.

But creepy cross-stitch? Now that's a new one!

I was thrilled when I was introduced to "Creepy Cross-Stitch" by Lindsay Swearingen. This book is full of gorgeous Halloween- and gothic-inspired cross-stitch patterns. Take a peek inside, and be sure to check out the end of the post for a special freebie!

Review: Creepy Cross-Stitch by Lindsay Swearingen

New to cross-stitching? Then this book is for you! The first section of the book includes instructions on how to get started with cross-stitching, tools you might need, and how to stitch.

Already know what you're doing? Then this book is for you too! I think you'll love these patterns as something completely different than what you find in the big box craft stores.

These patterns are simple and easy to follow. Each one has a gorgeous full-color pattern page in the book that is fully color-coded. Many of the pieces are done on black fabric, which I kind of love for patterns because it makes them that much easier to see!

And yes, my fellow Halloween lovers, there is a full section in there just for you!

I love the diverse patterns in this book because they're perfect for creating a little something to keep your home spooky...all year long! Order your copy.

Freebie: Cross-Stitch Pattern

Earlier this month, Lindsay joined me for an Instagram Live where we started an original cross-stitch pattern inspired by Spooky Little Halloween!

That's my in-progress shot. The best part? You can download the pattern for free and give one of Lindsay's patterns a try while you wait for your book to show up.Here are all the supplies you need:

When you finish, be sure to share your cross-stitch on Instagram and tag @spookylittlehalloween AND @tuskandcardinal. We would both love it see it!
