Review: Music for Halloween Night

Looking for the perfect soundtrack for Halloween night? Look no futher than George Streicher's sophomore album, "Music for Halloween Night."

In 2022, George released his first project, “Music of the Macabre.” (Read my review.)

As a TV and film composer, he used his professional skills and love of Halloween to create an orchestral album that takes the listener through a cemetery that comes to life.

Each track is a step deeper into this magical world and evokes memories of childhood Halloweens for this elder Millennial ghoul.

His return with “Music for Halloween Night,” out Friday, Sept. 5, 2025, is more of the same.

Listening to “Music for Halloween Night” is like going on an adventure trick-or-treating through a magical Halloween-lovin’ town. The track titled “Trick or Treat” is my favorite on the album. I picture the cutest witch, ghost, and vampire bopping from house to house, filling their pumpkin pails on a night that feels so big and full of possibility.

Another favorite: “The Seance.” I love the vocalization and soft harps that truly set the tone. “Flick or Treat” is up there as well, opening with tones that suggest tuning into a spooky movie and taking us on a journey through the decades of horror. (The mid-song jaunt into the 80s is so fun!)

One addition I love to this album: the talk tracks. Here and there, we get a narrator welcoming us into Halloween night to set the tone, beckoning us into the magical Halloween shoppe, and closing out our night. It’s like the most magical bedtime story set to music.

I'm excited to add this album to my personal Halloween music collection and hope you'll consider grabbing a physical copy as well.

“Music for Halloween Night” is available on cassette (standard and deluxe) as well as CD. It is also available on Spotify and Apple Music.

Keep an eye on YouTube for some fun performance videos coming your way throughout October 2025.

Happy listening!
