If a lead singer of a 1960s pop/rock band met a witchy woman…this is the playlist their love child would listen to.
And that love child may as well be me, because I don’t know if I’ve ever put together a playlist that feels more like myself.
I grew up listening to the Oldies station while all my friends were discovering New Kids on the Block and grunge. I loved my secret world of girl groups and Beach Boys and Monkee’s who made the world feel so safe and simple.
This playlist is an ode to that little girl who didn’t know she’d grow up to be a spooky woman publishing Halloween magazines, just for fun. There’s a few songs on here I knew as a kid…but SO many I’ve discovered since.
Not everything is outright Halloween, but I think that’s part of the fun. It’s a collection of songs that strike that perfect witchy vibe from the late 60s psychedelic sound mixed with novelty faves.
Put it on to get you in the mood for spooky season and learn every word, or throw it on in the background for ambiance. Happy listening!
