'Tis the season for missing Halloween something fierce. Lately, every time I open TikTok, I'm flooded with people asking if it's too early to celebrate. (The answer is no, it's never too early for something that brings you joy.)
I'm included in this group of people missing Halloween (the halfway point approaching usually does that to me), so I decided to celebrate with a little candy corn tea party!
Everything you need for a candy corn tea party
First up is candy corn decor! I was lucky enough to snag a pair of the much-sought-after candy corn mugs back in 2021. (Displayed here without their white toppers or spoons.) My tea towel was a HomeGoods/TJ Maxx find a few years ago.
My serving tray, is also full of candy corns dressed in Halloween costumes! (See the matching mug in this post.)
To pair with my little tea party, I took inspiration from my mom and made my own centerpiece. This one actually began last August, if you can believe it. I was walking through Michaels to scope out early Halloween decor and spotted this orange vase shaped like an old milk jug.
It was actually part of the summer clearance, so I grabbed it...and inspiration struck: what if I made a candy corn-colored floral arrangement for spring using it?
Luckily, fall florals were out already, so I pulled together some flowers in the appropriate colors. Because of the selections available, I decided to make an inverted candy corn color arrangement. I got a few different styles of flowers for the piece to give it some texture and layers.
And, of course, I had to bust out this candy corn ribbon to tie around the vase. I hate that the color order is wrong (a total pet peeve—it's classic!), but I also wanted to use a little of the craft supplies I already had on-hand.
No tea party is complete without scones! My friends Andrew and Devin over at Your Best Halloween Ever have been baking up Halloween scones for YEARS now and were kind enough to share their base recipe with me. I added candy corn to mine for flavor—but NOT in the way you might expect!
You can find out why just chopping up candy and dropping it into the dough is a recipe for disaster riiiiight here.
And, of course, no tea party is complete without the tea!
I was thrilled to find this candy corn blend, and even more impressed with how it tastes! The sweetness isn't overpowering—it's subtle. It was enjoyable hot and, being the good southern girl I am, I'm looking forward to giving it a try as an iced tea this summer.
