Popcorn’s perfect pairing? Candy, of course!
And let’s be real: there’s no better candy than Halloween candy. So much so that making a full out candy board is really the only way to enjoy it when it comes to a spooky movie night.
In the 2022 issue of Spooky Little Halloween—The Magazine, Andrew and Devin from Your Best Halloween Ever and myself put together our own movie night. This week, we’re sharing all our best tips, tricks, and ideas with you to use all spooky season.
Today, let’s dive into everything you need to create a killer candy board at home, from the right formula to all the textures, flavors, and containers you need to make it ‘Gram-worthy.
How to create a candy board for spooky movie night
To build the candy board, start by placing the larger candies or treats. You might consider putting one of your bite-size candies (something like M&Ms) in a small bowl or container in the center, then building around it.
Once the larger candies are placed, add in small candies. Be sure to mix up textures (a hard candy next to a gummy candy) as well as colors. Fill in any empty spots with classic Halloween candies, like candy corn or mellowcreme pumpkins.
THE FORMULA
1-3 chocolate candies
1-3 sour or fruit candies
1-2 classic Halloween candies
Candy-covered crunchy treat
In addition, you’ll want to think about the following:
A variety of candy sizes
A variety of colors
A variety of textures (gummy, chewy, hard, crunchy)
