All October posts are part of the Countdown to Halloween!
Did you know 2024 marked my 10th Halloween season running Spooky Little Halloween? Since 2015, this blog has been my space for celebrating Halloween online.
It’s wild to think about this little project being a part of my life for a decade now—or a quarter of the Halloween celebrations in my lifetime!
This season was another fun one, with a trip to California for a new-to-me event, another trip east for That Halloween Bro’s annual party, and a TON of running around the Twin Cities, cramming in as much Halloween fun as possible before the stroke of midnight on October 31st.
More on that next week. For today, let's dig into what's been popular on Spooky Little Halloween this season!
5 Most-Read Blog Posts for Halloween 2024
Wondering what the most popular blog posts were on Spooky Little Halloween this season? Here are my top five most-read posts. (You guys were digging in the archives this season, and I love it!)

Nothing is better than a Friday the 13th that occurs during Spooky Season, and this year we got on in September. If you were looking for fun ideas for celebrating, I have a whole list you can use, no matter what month Friday the 13th falls in. (Reminder: our next one is December 2024!) READ MORE
4. Vintage Halloween Songs
Music was big this year, and this little collection of vintage Halloween songs is always a popular one—but it was especially popular this year. If you’re looking for spooky tunes from the early 1900s, well before rock-n-roll became a thing, this is the playlist for you. READ MORE

2. The Ultimate Witch Playlist
For the first time ever, my Songs with Witchy Vibes playlist fell off this list…but it was replaced with this collection of songs about witches. To be honest, this little “ultimate” series I did was really a dumping ground for creating playlists, but I’m glad people are finding it useful! READ MORE
1. The Ultimate Halloween Playlist
This one makes me happy to see at number one—where it belongs! This playlist began somewhere around 2009/2010, and I started adding all my favorite songs for my party playlists to it. Over the years, it’s grown to more than 1,000 tunes and clocks in at nearly 55 hours. It’s like my own personal Halloween radio station! READ MORE
My 5 Favorite Blog Posts of Halloween 2024
When you’re a Halloween blogger, being asked to choose your favorite post is like picking a favorite pet or child – impossible! So here are 5 of my favorite posts I wrote this Halloween season.
5. Podcasts for Halloween Lovers
A long overdue blog post: my list of podcasts you should be listening to if you love Halloween. I tried my best to steer clear of the watch-a-movie-and-talk-about-it style horror podcasts that seem to get branded as Halloween content and stick to pods more in line with celebrating the holiday. 4. The Pinkoween Playlist
There was no denying 2024 was the year of “Pinkoween”—a trend I actually loved! To celebrate, I did my own take on it with a Halloween playlist of all female artists. If you bought a copy of this year’s magazine, I also had a custom playlist linked in there that followed this vibe, and I’m proud to say I didn’t duplicate a single song between the two lists! Just in time for the release of “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,” I partnered with Spooky Cat Press to make a few killer DIY projects using their gorgeous sandworm gift wrap. I love how these easy-to-execute projects turned out, and they’re perfect for any time of year. READ MORE

We kicked off this blogging season with a series of six blog posts to put together a killer spooky movie night, and I really love how ALL the posts turned out. This was previously a magazine feature I co-created with Andrew and Devin at Your Best Halloween Ever. Another one that’s great for year-round use anytime you need a night of Halloween feels.
