Meet GG, My Sheet Ghost Costume

All October posts are part of the Countdown to Halloween!

A sheet ghost costume is all the rage this Halloween! It seems like the trend started in the summer with everyone falling for printed sheets as ghosts.

Then they started popping up on TikTok and Instagram. My friends Chelsea and Erick over at Sips & Spirits even have their own spectral personalities that pop up on the Internet between podcast episodes.

So I decided I needed to get in on the fun this year and modeled my own sheet ghost after someone very special:

My new blog logo! More on her in a minute because first I have to give credit where it is due.

Okay, on to the costume!

Meet GG, My Sheet Ghost Costume

GG? you might be asking yourself. Who is GG?

Well, that is the name I've given my ghost logo after this Halloween season. As you might know, I live with a ghost. I believe she's a young girl in the 10-12 age range. I often call her "ghostie girl" because of her age. She likes to do silly things like knock over decor or plants, plays with my pendulum clock, or even messes with the LED lights on the back of my living room TV. It's never harmful, always playful.

And I don't really mind her hanging around, so she was a bit of the inspiration for my new logo when I decided to take a turn away from pumpkins.

When I decided to (pun intended) embody her for this year's blog costume, I decided she needed a name and GG, short for Ghostie Girl, seemed appropriate.

I also figured if she was real, she'd probably be hanging around the apartment helping with blog posts like...

Listening to all my playlists and approving them before they get posted. GG was especially excited for this year's release of my Ultimate Halloween Playlist...and secretly loves all the cheesy pumpkin spice songs on this playlist.

She loves finding new spooky small businesses to shop with in my Halloween hunting posts. (While it wasn't featured in a post this season, this McWitch pail purse is from Monster Creations.)

She LOVED all the Monster Cereal items I found in this round-up...and is begging me to open one of the boxes of the Monster Mash cereal I have.

GG loved getting a sneak peek inside Spooky Little Halloween—The Magazine! (Which is on sale through Oct. 31 for 20% off if you still haven't grabbed one...)

Though keeping her sheet clean while taste-testing was a bit of a challenge, she especially loved this year's pumpkin coffee recipe, my pumpkin brown sugar shaken espresso in her special mug from Ghost Girl Greetings. (Who else?!)

But above all else, home tours were her favorite! She loved the glow of my spooky living room, but...

...she's most at home in my haunted bedroom, just like me.

My favorite part of this costume? It was easy and SO affordable to create. I put together the entire look for just under $20.

  • White flat sheet

  • Orange glasses (optional)

  • Pumpkin pail

What are you dressing up as for Halloween this year?

I've got one more costume coming to social media over the weekend you won't want to miss. Be sure to give me a follow on Instagram to check it out.
